Soft Tissue Therapy (Remedial Sports Massage)
Sophia was born in Gothenburg,Sweden where she trained and worked as a professional ballet dancer.
She came to Britain in 1987 and pursued a musical theatre career in the West End, television, tours and film. She also taught musical theatre studies in Performing Arts Colleges in Britain and around Europe.
In 2005 she gained a Remedial Sports Massage qualification at the London School of Sports Massage and has since worked in multidisciplinary clinics and sports events treating athletes competing in the London Marathon, the Paralympics 2016 and Comic Relief.
Soft Tissue Therapy covers a range of massage and advanced soft tissue techniques set within a framework of assessment, treatment and rehabilitation procedures. As well as dealing effectively with a variety of musculoskeletal problems, this therapy can also assist injury recovery and reduce the symptoms in many medical conditions too. Recent studies show that this therapy has a much greater effect on anxiety and stress than originally expected.
