Sports and remedial massage
Sophia was born in Gothenburg, Sweden, where she trained at the Gothenburg Opera House to become a ballet dancer in France and Italy.
She came to Britain in 1987 where she performed in West End shows, television, tours and film, and then pursued a teaching career in dance and musical theatre in colleges around the UK. From this work she was also invited to bring her teaching method to schools and academies around Europe, which led to further coaching of sports and stage personalities.
In 2004 she retrained as a sports and dance practitioner at the London School of Sports Massage and in 2006 she joined The Ingledale Centre. Her clinic now offers 5 different types of massage techniques to make sure that clients from all walks of life have a tailor-made treatment.
About your treatment
Your initial consultation plays a very important part of your treatment. Your injury and posture will be properly assessed and you will be advised on a treatment programme. It also gives your therapist a chance to get to know you and work out what has caused your injury in the first instance. A follow up appointment is often necessary in order to reassess the problem and speed up the recovery.
