What is Counselling and who can it help?
Counselling is a talking therapy which offers you the chance to talk and look at any difficulties in a confidential, supportive and non-judgemental environment.
I am an Integrative Counsellor with additional training in Bereavement, and use a range of different therapeutic approaches (including CBT and humanistic therapy) according to individual needs and wishes.
I will support you as you explore any concerns, thoughts and behaviour which may be causing unhappiness, dissatisfaction or relationship problems.
Anyone can feel overwhelmed by stress and problems leading to increasing despair and anxiety. I believe that we all have the inner resources to make decisions and lifestyle choices. My aim is to enable clients to re-awaken these abilities and discover their strengths.
I have wide experience of working with people who may be experiencing anxiety, stress, anger, bullying, depression, shame, guilt, low self-esteem, grief, loss, miscarriage, bereavement, relationship problems and divorce. I also have an interest in Eating Disorders and Addiction and work with the 12-step programme for Recovery for those clients who wish to do so.
What is involved?
An initial appointment provides you with the opportunity to meet me and decide whether you would like to work with me. At this time I will ask you some questions about your psychosocial background in order to best assess your needs. I suggest weekly sessions at an agreed time to give you regular therapeutic support. I provide limited evening (Tuesday) and Saturday morning slots.
I offer short and long-term therapy on a 1:1 or couple basis. My fee is £50 for an individual session and £65 for couples. Each session lasts for 50 minutes.
